Alfred S. Palmer Lectureship: “Soon and Very Soon: The Transformative Music and Ministry of Andraé Crouch”

Please join the Âé¶¹Ó³Ïñ Pacific Seminary for the Annual Alfred S. Palmer Lecture on Tuesday, Oct. 28, 7 p.m., in the First Free Methodist Church Sanctuary. The speakers are , professor of music at Baylor University, and , professor emeritus of journalism at Baylor University. They will present the lecture, “Soon and Very Soon: The Transformative Music and Ministry of Andraé Crouch.”

The lecture will explore their new book,  (Oxford University Press, 2025). Widely regarded as the most significant gospel artist of the late 20th century, Crouch reshaped American music through his innovative compositions, performances, and multiracial approach. Darden and Newby will highlight his musical and lyrical breakthroughs, illustrated with selections from his career. The respondent for this lecture will be Matthew Sigler, associate professor of worship and historical theology at Âé¶¹Ó³Ïñ.
