Windows 11 upgrade required by Oct. 10
A message from Information Technolgy. As a reminder, all university devices must be updated to Windows 11 by Friday, October 10, 2025. We began communicating this requirement last academic year and now we are approaching the final deadline. If you have not yet scheduled a time with IT to perform the upgrade, please be aware that there is a hard cut-off date.
- Microsoft will officially end service for Windows 10 on October 14.
- To prevent service disruptions, IT requires that all devices be upgraded by October 10.
- Users who have not updated may lose access to critical university resources.
For those pressed for time, IT can provide a like-for-like device swap (same make and model). If you choose this option, please ensure all of your files are backed up beforehand.
If you are unsure whether your device has already been upgraded, or if you still need to schedule an appointment, please contact IT Support as soon as possible.
Thank you for your cooperation in keeping our technology secure and supported.

Pastor Fred TenEyck, new campus pastor
A message from Vice President for Student Life Jeff Jordan: We welcome Pastor Fred TenEyck to Â鶹ӳÏñ Pacific as our new campus pastor, director of Student Ministries! It is with great pleasure and excitement that Pastor Fred TenEyck joins the SPU community to lead our efforts with Christian spiritual formation for our student body.
Fred joins us after many years in congregational ministry around the country and most recently with Rainier Ave Church and The Bridge in Kent. He brings great experience leading and ministering in a local church setting. Additionally, Fred is the director of the African Heritage Network, supporting the ministry and development of Free Methodist leaders. He has been active in the public school system and in after-school programs focused on assisting at-risk youth.
As Fred joins the SPU community he states, “I’m excited to begin this journey at SPU! It’s an honor to walk alongside students as they grow into faithful followers of Jesus. My hope is to help nurture a campus community where every student feels seen, known, and deeply loved."
Those who know Fred describe him as relational, outgoing, and engaging. He has many interests including sports, music, and motorcycles. His life journey in ministry leadership, community service, and deep love of Jesus and people prepare him well for this role.
Fred will be very visible as we start the new academic year. He will be our first speaker in Chapel on Tuesday, Sept. 30, 11:10 a.m. at First Free Methodist Church. His office will be on the 2nd floor of the Student Union Building, room 200. Don’t be shy to stop by and welcome Pastor Fred to the SPU community.
